David has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 25 years. Through his love of ancient wisdom teachings, he has traveled the globe to study with master teachers including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, T.K.V. Desikachar, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, and B.K.S. Iyengar. As director of the Dallas Yoga Center since 2001, he has built a vibrant community and trained thousands of yoga students and teachers. He loves yoga as a sacred practice that integrates body, mind, and spirit, and he leads transformational journeys to sacred sites in places such as India, Nepal, and Peru.

In 2016, Daniel teamed up with his brother David at DYC, leading mindfulness, community engagement, and membership. Now a co-owner, he continues to teach mindfulness and sound healing, and he co-created the Mindfulness Certification Training with Sarah Sampson and Dr. Kay Colbert, a program that has empowered thousands to bring mindfulness into schools, hospitals, corporations, and beyond. A meditation, empowerment, and mindset coach, Daniel guides students toward greater tranquility, resilience, and joy.

Laura is a certified Yoga Therapist who loves the healing art of yoga in support of real life. She trained with Gary Kraftsow of American Viniyoga and spent seven years in a collaborative counseling practice, using yoga and talk therapy to support mental health. She teaches yoga as a lifestyle, not an exercise regime, and her mentorship helps students connect deeply to the foundation, philosophy, and practices that make things happen. Creating sacred space on retreat is one of her gifts.

Caroline has been practicing yoga since 1998 and teaching since 2012. Her background in dance and other movement modalities informs her practice, and she loves inviting joy and freedom of movement into the body. She teaches a healthy alignment for overall ease and flow of energy, and her attention to individual needs celebrates the uniqueness of each student. She continues to study regularly with Doug Keller and Christina Sell.

Sarah is a mindfulness teacher, mindful-movement instructor, and social-emotional learning educator committed to helping people experience transformation through whole-body practice. She is trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction through UC San Diego Medical School and certified in social-emotional learning, reiki, and shamanic soul retrieval. As SEL facilitator for Keller ISD, she has supported mindfulness for more than 34,000 students, and she has co-facilitated DYC's Mindfulness Certification Training since 2019.

Stacy has studied Iyengar, Power Vinyasa, and Baptiste Power Yoga for decades, earning her 2000-hour certification from the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute in 2017. An E-RYT 500 through Yoga Alliance and a licensed continuing education provider, she has written and taught curricula for 200 and 300 hour teacher trainings and led a yoga community for ten years. In class she emphasizes sthira sukha, the balance of strength and ease, with hard work balanced by laughter.

Sandi came to yoga from a career in engineering and brings that rigorous, creative thinking to her teaching with a high degree of sensitivity and care. She continues professional Yoga Therapist training under Gary Kraftsow of the American Viniyoga Institute and is passionate about making yoga accessible for disadvantaged and disabled populations, including survivors of trafficking and veterans. Students value her attention to detail, sequencing, and the encouragement she gives for their next steps.

Kenny Kolter, Sound Healing at Dallas Yoga Center

Gong & sound therapy · Certified reiki healer · 1,300+ sessions

Kenny approaches sound therapy and gong meditation with a subtle, rhythmic quality, drawing out the vast array of tones and harmonics within the instrument. A musician and certified reiki healer, he has played percussion since age 9 and practiced meditation since 12, and his sessions blend gongs, drums, chimes, and Tibetan singing bowls into soothing vibrations. He has led more than 1,300 group sound sessions and has shared this work with the Dallas community through DYC since 2012.

Dr. Kay Colbert has roughly 300 hours of professional training in mindfulness-based programs through the University of San Diego Medical School Center for Mindfulness and has taught mindfulness for over a decade. She is trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion, and holds a doctorate in social work from the University of Pennsylvania, with research focused on mindfulness interventions for addiction.
